Our History

The Woodcrest Tomato Club was originally founded in 1967 in the Woodcrest neighborhood of Cherry Hill, New Jersey. It began as a small, community-driven social club focused on celebrating and educating others about locally grown produce—most notably, the iconic Jersey tomato. At the time, many of its members were also closely connected to a nearby country club that shared the Woodcrest name.

Like many great local traditions, the club eventually faded, quietly disbanding in the 1970s and remaining dormant for nearly 50 years.

In 2025, we began planning a trip to St. Andrews, the home of golf. In search of a name that reflected our roots, we came across vintage memorabilia from the original Woodcrest Tomato Club—including its classic crest. What started as a nostalgic nod quickly turned into something more: a revival.

We created apparel for the trip, bringing the Tomato Club name back into circulation. Throughout the journey, we captured moments both memorable and imperfect—great swings, missed putts, and everything in between—on iPhones and cheap disposable cameras, sharing them along the way. With each post, the Tomato Club’s signature logo began to take on new life.

When we returned home to the Garden State, the response was immediate. Interest poured in from local clubs and golfers across the country.

That’s when we knew the Woodcrest Tomato Club wasn’t just a throwback—it was something worth growing again, taking root in clubs across the country and finding its place in the game of golf.
